Frequently Asked Questions
  • Who is Dani Nicole?
Valid question, and a good one to start with! Seeing as how your wedding photographer is the only vendor you have to spend all day with, and probably some time with before, you probably should like her a bit, and kinda know where she came from. Well, here's my story: How I Ended Up Behind The Camera.
  • What makes you different from other wedding photographers?
I believe in a simplistic, documentary approach to a wedding day, with minimal posing and more of a relaxed, "just do you" vibe. I will guide and direct you in posing, but you can guarantee there will be little of you looking at the camera. I value interaction and authenticity, and I like to be a fly on the wall, capturing the day exactly as it happens, for better or worse! My editing style is also on the moodier spectrum, with a whole bunch of grittiness and an edgy vibe thrown in. I try to think outside the norm, and bring you images that are different, yet still real, because who wants their wedding day photos to look like everyone else's?!
  • Who is your ideal client?
I love couples who love being themselves. I adore weddings that incorporate the unique personalities of each person. Cookie-cutter weddings just aren't my thing. I mesh best with laid back, go with the flow personalities who simply want their wedding day to be a celebration of the love that brought them together. As long as you can find humor and acceptance if the flower girl gets cold feet, a drunk uncle hits on your sorority sisters, the wedding cake is a bit lopsided, or the officiant says the wrong names, then you're my people.
  • Are you legit?
All the way! I've been in business since 2016, carry professional liability insurance, and am vetted by a slew of reviews from satisfied clients I've worked with. You can check some of them out on Instagram and Wedding Wire.
  • What are your prices?
I value transparency, and honestly, plain ol' easy. That's why all of my wedding collections are listed right here, with prices + inclusions. What you see is what you get. I don't want to waste anyone's time if I'm out of your price range or I don't include what you're wanting for your wedding day. Also, all of my collections are completely customizable, so we can create just what your day needs.
  • How far in advance do you book weddings?
Usually a year in advance is the norm, but I will book a little over a year or even next month if I'm available on your date. As with most major wedding vendors, the sooner the better, because our calendars fill up fast, especially during peak spring and fall wedding seasons. I only accept a small amount of weddings each year. I like to be intentional with my couples, give them all of me, and always have time for them, so placing limitations on myself keeps me in check and allows me to serve my couples in an exceptional way.
  • What is your booking process?
In order to lock in your date, you need to sign the contract and provide a 30% non-refundable deposit. The balance of your wedding package is due at least two weeks before your wedding date, and I'm flexible in how that can be paid. You can pay it all at once, in installments, or however it best works for you. As long as you're paid in full before you walk down the aisle, all good!
  • Do you travel for weddings and elopements?
Yes, and please! I'm based in Charlotte, NC, but I'll go anywhere. For weddings and elopements beyond 50 miles roundtrip of my home, there is a travel fee in addition to your wedding collection amount. For destination weddings (locations requiring flights/accommodations), you're responsible for covering all of my (and my second shooter's, if applicable) travel expenses, including (if applicable) roundtrip airfare, rental car/ shuttle, and hotel accommodations for the length of time we agree on. But, I promise, I travel well!
  • How many photos will we receive?
I value quality over quantity, so I handpick the best of the best images from your day that accurately tell your story. I don't box myself in with an exact number of images you'll receive, as every wedding day is unique, but on average, for eight hour day coverage, you can expect between 500-600 edited photos.
  • Do you give RAW files?
Nope! Part of the beauty of photography and one of the parts that makes one photographer different from another is their editing process. I take pride in shooting, but also and just as importantly, taking those images and creating art out of them. I don't outsource editing or over edit, but my editing process is what makes me stand out and what brings my style alive. To provide unedited images to my clients wouldn't be a fair representation of my work, and in turn, wouldn't show potential future clients what I can provide them.
  • Do you offer albums, prints, or products?
You'll receive all your digital images via an online album called Pixieset. Again, I like to keep things simple, so I offer the option to order prints, canvases, and more, directly through me. As you click through your digital album, you can order prints and products at the same time. I also offer wedding albums, since those can be a time suck to make on your own, and the last thing you want is a crappy quality album since you'll be pouring through it for the next fifty years.
  • How long before I get my photos back?
I pride myself on a quick and reasonable turnaround for weddings. Who wants to wait months to see their big day photos?! I know I sure wouldn't, so I wouldn't do that to you. Usually within 4 weeks you'll have your wedding album in your digital hands to drool over and spam all your friends and family with.
