I feel like my love affairs with my clients keep getting better and better, even when I thought one couple had topped them all! Well, enter Ali and Philipp ... my new heart throbs. And for many, many reasons... When Ali first Instagram approached me, I once again girl crushed hard, because here was the voice behind The Margarita Confessionals podcast and owner of NC Yoga Bar, plus a charlotte socialite and popular girl (in my eyes at least, don't laugh Ali!), and here she was, wanting ME to shoot her surprise Charleston elopement to her Porsche racing team fiance, Philipp. I mean, c'mon!
And then, when she told me her ideas for their wedding, which basically consisted of going back to the place that they as a couple fell in love with, absent of everyone except themselves, keeping it a surprise from friends and family, and simply wanting to walk around that beloved city, become man and wife on a quiet rooftop and pop some champagne, I fell even harder.
Their vision came true, and that December Wednesday afternoon in Charleston, beneath the sun and the city decked out in its holiday finest, we trekked through the streets taking photos until blisters made us call an Uber and take us back to The Restoration, where we climbed to the rooftop patio and Ali and Philipp said their vows to each other in front of a South Carolina sunset, with only myself and the officiant present. Tears were shed, champagne was sipped, and love was celebrated.
