Amanda + Omar | Uptown Indigo

This wedding day was a vibe. Amanda and Omar pulled out all the decor stops, and with the help of planner @asterandbirchweddings, created a speakeasy, moody feel that was to swoon over. Even though it rained all day, it totally contributed to the overall vibe of this intimate celebration. So many yummy desserts and cocktails (and shots shots shots) to velvet accents (I wish it translated through that the black envelope in their suite was velvet). And a dance party with all the Latin flair. There was so much pretty goodness wrapped up in this day.

  • How did you meet? We met on Plenty of Fish in March of 2014. (Dating app)

  • How did he propose? It was Christmas Day 2020 and we were watching "A Christmas Story" as our yearly tradition. At the end of the movie when the Dad tells Ralphie to check behind the dresser for another gift, Omar paused the movie and told me to look inside the tree for another gift. I was looking for a special ornament or something but to my surprise, there was a little box and when I opened it, it was empty. I turned around and he was on one knee, with the actual ring. He said, "You're the best thing that's ever happened to me, you mean everything to me and I can't imagine spending my life with anyone else". I cried and laughed LOL I didn't yes for like a good minute because I was in shock. Our favorite holiday is Christmas so it was perfect.

  • For the Groom | What do you love most about your girl? From his mouth " I love how I can always be myself completely, and never feel judged."

  • For the Bride | What do you love most about your guy? I love his loyalty, kind nature and ability to make me laugh even in the toughest moments. He's truly an incredible person and being that he's so shy, I'm really the only one who sees that side of him, making it even more special :)
