The Boat Family at McLawland Farms | Family Portraits in Charlotte

Third time’s a charm for these family portraits in Charlotte NC at McLawland Farms! We had to reschedule this family session two times due to rain, and we weren’t even certain the skies wouldn’t open up for this evening too. But we were committed. As soon as we opened the car doors, we were blasted with 89% humidity, a few sprinkles, and two little girls who were over it before it had begun. This was one of those sessions where I pray over the images on the ride home! But of course God always shows up. Cause even though the odds were against us - the ants biting, the clothes sweat soaked and muddy, the hair frizzy, the babies grumpy - the moments captured proved otherwise.

When you trust your photographer, and when you just SHOW UP and BE WITH your people, the snapshots will reflect a glorified version of your real life. Your babies will never be this age again, even the next day, so it’s ok if they don’t look at the camera or if all they do is run after butterflies. Cause that is real, and real is all we ever want to remember.
