A Last-Minute Micro Wedding Full of Heart for Fabienne + Julio | Charlotte Micro Wedding Photography

Some wedding days are planned months in advance. Others happen because a fellow photographer throws out his back at the gym and calls in a favor four hours before the ceremony.
And honestly? These are some of my favorite days.
As someone who specializes in Charlotte micro wedding photography, flexibility, trust, and community are a huge part of the work — and this day had all three in the best way possible.
When a Micro Wedding Comes Together in Just a Few Hours
Real clothes went on. Makeup that hadn’t been touched since before the holidays made an appearance. And just like that, I was heading out to meet two people who would completely brighten my day.
Fabienne and Julio welcomed me so effortlessly into their intimate wedding celebration. What started as a last-minute booking quickly felt like stepping into something deeply meaningful already in motion — a true testament to the beauty of micro weddings.
A Ceremony Spoken in Haitian French, Felt in Every Way
Their ceremony, officiated by the wonderful Rev. David Seidel, was beautifully spoken in Haitian French. I didn’t understand a single word — and yet, I understood everything. There was undeniable love in that small wedding garden. From the way they looked at each other to the quiet emotion surrounding them, the meaning was clear without translation. This is one of the reasons I love Charlotte micro wedding photography — the focus is always on connection, not production.
Uptown Charlotte Flash Photos at La Belle Helene
After tying the knot, we drove uptown to La Belle Helene in Charlotte for some trendy, flash-style portraits that perfectly matched Fabienne’s big bow and little veil energy. The city backdrop, modern light, and effortless style made this part of the day so fun and relaxed.
They then gathered for an intimate dinner with a handful of family and friends — laughing, celebrating, and savoring the moment together. They even graciously invited me to join them (and listen… if four little kids weren’t waiting at home, that Salmon à la Plancha and Chocolate Torte would’ve been mine).
Thankful for Community, Warm January Days & Stylish Brides
This wedding was a reminder of so many good things:
Community over competition
Photographers supporting photographers
Unseasonably warm January weather
Brides with big bows and little veils
Micro weddings often come together in unexpected ways, but they’re always rooted in intention —and this one was filled with joy from start to finish.
