A CHARLOTTE NORTH CAROLINA WEDDING PHOTOGRAPHER

Ultimate Guide to the 10 Best Charlotte Micro Wedding Venues | By a Charlotte Micro Wedding Photographer

As a Charlotte micro wedding photographer, I'm always on the hunt for local venues that are not only beautiful and unique, but also specialize in hosting micro weddings (i.e. offer customized packages for brides and grooms who want this experience only). Finding a space that honors your choice in a micro wedding, and that makes it super simple to execute is a win win in my eyes.

Check out nine of my favorite micro wedding venues in the Charlotte, NC and surrounding areas (all of which I've photographed at and can give a seal of approval for), plus one venue that is on my bucket list - whoever books a micro wedding at this venue and chooses me as their photographer gets a fresh loaf of homemade sourdough bread and extra hugs!

*** I've also included a special DNP (Dani Nicole Photography) Pro and Con section for each venue, so you get personal experience from a photography perspective.

Be sure to head over to the 'gram to see more micro wedding venues - And if I'm missing a good one that needs to be added to the list, let me know in the comments below!

  1. Jetton Park

a bride and groom holding hands while smiling during their processional with Jetton Park Lake Norman in the background

Jetton Park offers a charming and intimate setting for couples planning a micro wedding, with its Waterfront Hall. Nestled beside the serene Lake Norman, the venue features high ceilings, crystal chandeliers, and large panoramic windows that flood the space with natural light — creating a romantic lakeside ambiance. The venue includes convenient amenities such as tables, chairs, kitchen facilities, restrooms, and climate control. Couples are drawn to Jetton Park for its scenic beauty and relaxed atmosphere, making it a beloved choice for those seeking a memorable, smaller-scale celebration.

DNP Pro > "This is a blank slate you get to make your own - with a gorgeous lake backdrop for cheap! It's a great budget friendly venue, so you can spend the rest of your wedding money on bigger priorities - like your wedding photographer! Also, there's a small beach area to be used for portraits or your ceremony, which is stunning at golden hour."

DNP Con > "This is a public park, so there is a very real chance that there will be on-lookers during your ceremony. The Waterfront Hall is private inside for your reception, but park goers will be around outdoors, and while they probably won't "crash" your wedding, they might take a look and holler a southern "Congrats!"

    - Location > Cornelius, NC

    - Guest Count > Up to 80 guests

    - Starting Price > $450

  1. The 1932 Barn

the 1932 Barn in Charlotte NC

The 1932 Barn is a beautifully restored historic venue nestled on the century-old Hodges Farm, seamlessly blending rustic charm with refined elegance for micro weddings. With soaring vaulted ceilings, sparkling chandeliers, and ambient market lighting, the Main Barn offers both intimate indoor celebration space and expansive outdoor options like a romantic meadow ceremony beneath an iconic oak tree, a covered courtyard for cocktail hours, and a twinkling-patio under the stars. The venue provides a hassle‑free experience with thoughtfully inclusive packages — complete with tables, chairs, décor options, setup/teardown, and a dedicated coordinator to guide everything from planning to execution — allowing couples to relax and savor their day in a warm, charming, and inviting setting.

DNP Pro > "If you're a wooden swing on the tree kinda bride, they have one for you. As well as a smores pit, some farm animals to enjoy, and an open air dance floor - country wedding livin at its finest."

DNP Con > "The bridal and groom suites have very little natural light, so it's definitely best to do your most important getting ready photos outdoors. You also might want to encourage your guests to leave the heels at home - you're mostly walking on grass, gravel, and sand."

    - Location > Charlotte, NC

    - Guest Count > Up to 50 guests

    - Starting Price > $2,450

Carolina Country Weddings offers a dreamy, nature-inspired setting for micro weddings, nestled on a serene, private farm just a short drive from Charlotte. Couples planning an intimate celebration — whether in a tucked-away forest clearing, a wildflower meadow, or even in the charming 1901 Farmhouse or Bella Brickhouse — will find options tailored to groups ranging from cozy elopements of a few to intimate gatherings of up to 60 people. With multiple picturesque ceremony sites like the enchanting Wedding in the Woods, plus reception spaces including the rustic barn, garden patio, or airy lodge, the venue provides flexibility and natural beauty all in one. On-site overnight lodging in the farmhouse or Brickhouse allows couples and guests to savor the celebration across one or two days, supported by thoughtful planning, décor guidance, and seamless coordination to help bring your intimate vision to life.

DNP Pro > "There are the most beautiful fields to walk through for photos - especially at golden hour, as well as a small hike to the top of a hill that gives the illusion of the sky meeting the ground, making for a stunning wide angle shot (it's actually one of my website homepage images!)"

DNP Con > "This goes hand in hand with the Pro ... while the fields are great photo spots, you're walking through fields ... which come with critters, bugs, prickly tall grasses, etc. Just be prepared when it comes to choosing your shoes and dress (crickets love layers of tulle!) Also, it's a lot of walking, so be sure to ask for their golf cart availability!"

The venue accommodates small gatherings while still allowing creative flexibility through beautifully varied outdoor spaces for both ceremony and reception. With its picture‑perfect gardens, versatile layout including spots for cocktails by the pool or under market lights, and personal touches woven throughout, The Andrews Farm creates a romantic and customizable micro‑wedding atmosphere that feels both intimate and timeless.

DNP Pro > "The house and grounds are stunning! No lack of beautiful places to take portraits. It's like getting married in your rich friend's backyard in Europe - with a pool! Also, I have to say (fellow photographers will get this) that it's a beautiful backdrop for BOTH processional and recessional."

DNP Con > "The best ceremony sites and reception options are all outdoors, so if it happens to rain, your plan B won't be ideal. Be sure you have a great planner to help you execute a rain plan that you're happy with - yes, micro weddings deserve wedding planners too!"

  1. II Bella Gardens

Nestled on a serene 20‑acre woodland retreat just a half-hour from Charlotte, Il Bella Gardens offers enchanting micro‑wedding experiences that balance natural beauty with effortless elegance. Couples can choose from multiple thoughtfully designed settings —including intimate outdoor gardens teeming with fluttering hummingbirds and butterflies, a romantic open‑air pavilion called Il Bella Colonna, or the snug cottage and cobblestone patio of Il Bella Villetta — ideal for smaller, personalized ceremonies. The venue also includes on‑site get‑ready rooms and on‑site wedding planning support, ensuring each celebration unfolds seamlessly and leaves a lasting impression of intentional, storybook charm.

DNP Pro > "This place is sweetly small, and makes for a more intimate feel for you and for your guests. There's nothing confusing about where you need to go or where things are. No walking for miles, which makes my wedding feet happy! It feels like a backyard, home wedding."

DNP Con > "The outdoor pavilion is not climate controlled, so it can get hot or cold, depending on how God's weather forecast is for the day. So come prepared (a handheld misting fan or a winter coat), and be wise in choosing your wedding date. Charlotte in the summer is not for the faint of heart!"

  1. The Laboratory Mill

a bride and groom privately reading their micro wedding vows to each other while sitting on a couch in The Laboratory Mill in Lincolnton NC

The Laboratory Mill offers an enchanting micro‑wedding experience within its beautifully restored historic setting. Couples seeking a refined yet intimate celebration will love its thoughtfully crafted “Intimate Package,” which includes dedicated staff, a ceremony location (either the belfry wing or the card room), reception site, linens, tables, chairs, a one‑hour photo session, and the picturesque mill grounds by the South Fork Catawba River. Housed within a revitalized 200‑year‑old cotton mill featuring exposed heart‑pine beams, distressed brick, expansive windows, vaulted ceilings, and a climate‑controlled interior, the venue offers a stunning, rustic‑industrial ambiance. With a dedicated team present throughout the event — and no overlapping ceremonies — this venue ensures personalized attention and seamless flow for a small-scale ceremony.

DNP Pro > "The versatility of portrait options are vast here! You can start with an indoor, industrial feel with brick and moody shadows, then head outside to choose from bright greenery and stones, a sandy beach and mini river waterfall, a super unique and grand sandy expanse with the mill building as a backdrop. You could shoot for hours and never run out of spots to use!"

DNP Con > "The upstairs, indoor ceremony space isn't my favorite due to low lighting and lots of busyness - I prefer a more clean, minimalist backdrop. If they permit an outdoor ceremony, that would be ideal for photography purposes."

 - Location > Lincolnton, NC

- Guest Count > Up to 75 guests

- Starting Price > $2,000

Camelot Meadows offers a truly enchanting and versatile micro‑wedding experience, allowing couples to tailor their celebration with stunning indoor and outdoor options. Set on 33 acres along Lake Wylie, the venue features a magical bamboo forest for intimate ceremonies, open pastures framed by the barn and lake, and a climate‑controlled barn with private suites, catering facilities, and a charming covered patio. With dedicated staff and beautiful backdrops — from misty bamboo groves to waterfront vistas — Camelot Meadows creates an intimate, fairytale‑like setting for small weddings that feels both special and unforgettable.

DNP Pro > "The outdoor ceremony site is my favorite! It has a white, wooden boardwalk that leads from the barn to the spot you say your vows (no worries about walking in grass in heels!), and is set against the most beautifully dense bamboo wooded area. On an overcast day, it's pure photography perfection."

DNP Con > "The bridal suite doesn't have any windows or natural light, so it's definitely best to do your most important getting ready photos outdoors or in the main barn area."

  1. Daniel Stowe Conservancy

Daniel Stowe Conservancy (formerly Daniel Stowe Botanical Garden) offers a romantic and picturesque micro‑wedding experience that pairs refined elegance with lush natural surroundings. Couples seeking an intimate ceremony can choose one beautiful garden area — whether the serene White Garden, the tropical Orchid Conservatory & Terrace, or another of six distinct outdoor or indoor spaces — and enjoy exclusive access along with bride and groom suites, and optional add‑ons like a two‑hour reception in the Levine Pavilion or Wren Room. Whether you envision a vow exchange in a secluded floral alcove or a cozy reception under glass or canopy, the venue’s thoughtful layout and seasoned private‑events team ensure a seamless, unforgettable day in a breathtaking botanical setting.

DNP Pro > "If you want a bit of an exotic feel, this is the region's only tropical conservatory. Shooting portraits in the greenhouse, although hot and steamy, gives you a look you can't really find anywhere else in the Charlotte area - hello palm trees!"

DNP Con > "It's not a great year round venue, due to the blooming time of the plants and flowers. It's best used during the spring and summer months when everything is in full bloom to get the best look for your buck."
