This adventure engagement session on the Blue Ridge Parkway was nothing short of amazing. It’s been a hot minute since I’ve shot in the mountains, and we couldn’t have asked for a more perfect evening. God’s timing never disappoints. Not only did Allie and Luke bring all the heat and emotion, but I was able to bring my family along too. There’s nothing that makes me happier than photographing two people in love against God’s golden canvas while my babies and husband squeal and play behind me. How did you meet? At the end of our freshman year of college, mutual friends convinced Luke to talk to Allie! We gave it a shot and it ended up working! On our second date, we took a 5-hour road trip to Knoxville, TN because Allie shattered her phone on the first date! But hey, it forced him to have to spend more time with her. Afterwards, we went to get ice cream and Allie tricked Luke into smelling the "stinky whipped cream" and smashed it all in his face! I guess that was the cherry on top, because after that we were inseparable!
How did he (or she) propose? This came as a total surprise to Allie! One month shy of our two year anniversary, Luke told Allie that we were going to go on a hike with his family on the Blue Ridge Parkway. At the top of the trail, Allie was overtaken by the view, oblivious to Luke and his parents getting in position. As Luke stood next to Allie for "a picture", she could hear his heart beating out of his chest. Then he got down on one knee and Allie was very surprised! After asking multiple times "are you kidding?", she squealed with excitement! Definitely a day we will never forget!
For the Groom | What do you love most about your girl? I love Allie's smile, it makes my days 10 times better when I see her smile. It makes the whole room light up and makes me forget about everything that had made my day bad. But I can't just choose one thing, I also love the way she pushes me to try my best in everything no matter what it is. She makes me strive to be my best every single day.
For the Bride | What do you love most about your guy? I love how patient Luke is. He teaches me everyday to "take things with a grain of salt". He motivates me, pushes me, and encourages me to be the best I can be. He reminds me to enjoy life and take things less seriously. There is truly no one else I can imagine taking on life with!
