Amy + Jeff | Waxhaw North Carolina

This wedding day had so many details, so many beautiful people, and so much emotion. This country wedding was held in the bride and groom’s backyard, with an abundance of their pet animals as guests (from goats and cats to dogs and highland bulls). I’m not a dog person, but there was something so comforting seeing their two huge pups walking around the dance floor, being loved on by their family, and catching a quick snooze once in a while. From the taco truck and the carrot bar for the goats to the bride surprising her groom by singing him Etta James’ “At Last” and emotional toasts by the groom’s sons, it was a day full of more happy tears than I’ve ever seen at a wedding. Congrats to this new blended family, and all the thanks to them for welcoming me into their home and trusting me with their moments. I cherish celebrations like this.

  • How did you meet? At work. We are both Police Lieutenants for CMPD.

  • How did he propose? In the kitchen of our new home…the ring was delayed upon ordering and when he finally got it he couldn’t wait any longer. :)
