A Summer Maternity Session with a Charlotte Maternity Photographer

Summer in Charlotte means beautiful golden light, warm evenings — and, sometimes, a whole lot of unpredictable thunderstorms!
This maternity session was a true case of third time’s a charm. After rescheduling twice because of summer storms, we finally found a window to make it happen. And even then, we were still up against big clouds, threatening skies, and quickly fading light. But we did it!
And I am so glad we waited because we were finally able to capture Stevie’s first baby bump — a milestone that deserves to be remembered and cherished forever.
There is something so special about photographing a first pregnancy. The anticipation, the excitement, and the quiet moments before everything changes as two people prepare to become parents. Stevie and Jon are going to make incredible parents, and I couldn't be happier that I got to document this fleeting season for them.
Baby girl will be here in just a few short weeks, and I know she is already so loved.
As a Charlotte maternity photographer, I know that outdoor sessions don't always go exactly according to plan — especially during a North Carolina summer. Sometimes the best photographs come after a little patience, flexibility, and waiting for that perfect window of opportunity.
And on this evening, despite the clouds and fading light, everything came together beautifully.
I can't wait to see this sweet family again once their baby girl arrives!
If you're expecting and looking for a Charlotte maternity photographer to capture this special season, I'd love to document your growing family. From first baby bumps to growing families, these moments truly are fleeting — and they deserve to be remembered.
Charlotte maternity photography is one of my favorite ways to celebrate the beginning of a family's next chapter.
